Popcorn Isn’t Just for the Movies…

VPI is always hard at work and we across a great recipe for you all to try with our new Honey Caramel Sauce, your taste buds will crave this snack all year long!

Ingredients

6 cups plain popped popcorn
2 cups coarsely crushed, salted pretzels
1 cup VPI-101-HSF Caramelized Honey Syrup
½ tsp sea salt
¼ cup water
¼ cup of our Caramelized Cream Powder
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 ½ cups Bite-size Eater Pretzel Chocolate Candies or Plain Eater Chocolate Candies

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine popcorn and pretzels. Set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring VPI Caramelized Honey Syrup, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and water to a boil over medium high heat.
  • Boil, undisturbed, until mixture is amber in color, for about 8-12 minutes.
  • Remove pan from heat and slowly stir in Caramelized Cream Powder.
  • Stir until smooth and add vanilla extract and marshmallows. Stir until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth.
  • Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and pretzels and gently stir with a rubber spatula until popcorn is well coated.
  • Stir in the pretzel chocolate candies.
  • Transfer mixture to a large baking sheet and sprinkle with sea salt. Let cool completely.
